MHS Radiators has supplied 39 Ambiguard radiators from its LST range to the Phoenix Centre in Wigan. The Special Education Needs (SEN) facility reopened its doors in February 2017 after receiving funding from the local council for an extensive renovation of the building, which included refurbishing the heating system.
When NPS Group was appointed as M&E consultants for the project, they identified LST radiators as the most appropriate product, given that the occupants would be children of various ages. The new radiators replaced ageing fan convectors, which had been installed for many years and were unsuitable for further use. Facilitating an easy install, the existing pipework was utilised across the single storey building.
The new radiators were fitted as part of an extensive renovation of the building, which was formerly The Royal Hotel, in May 2016. Contractors MVS Mechanical Services Ltd installed the products in line with the specification from project consultants Cundall.
The renovation saw the rich history of the building retained, in combination with modern materials and a unique design approach. Newly introduced elements included Spanish styled bathrooms and Italian designer kitchens, while the original oil storage heating was removed and replaced by gas central heating and radiators.

70 New Ionic traditional cast iron column radiators from MHS Radiators have been installed in the Grade II Listed Manor House of Lytchett Minster School in Dorset. The new products were fitted as part of an extensive heating replacement project at the comprehensive school, which currently has over 1,400 students.
The radiators were installed by Watertite Heating Limited of Yeovil on behalf of Dorset County Council, having been specified by Bournemouth-based building services consulting engineers, Mabey Francis. The project was carried out over two years; the boilers and distribution pipework were fitted in 2014, prior to the radiators and second fix pipework being added in 2015.

An impressive selection of 30 Multisec, 20 Kompakt Plan and four Ecoguard LST radiators from MHS Radiators have been installed at the luxurious Gainsborough Bath Spa Hotel. The radiators were specified as part of an extensive design and build project at the historic Grade II listed Victorian building.
Commenting on the installation, Ben Barton, Contracts Engineer at Finning Contracting, explained: “The project was put out to tender and MHS Radiators easily offered the most attractive package, both in terms of the range of radiator styles available and being competitively priced.
16 New Ionic cast iron radiators from MHS Radiators have been installed as part of the redevelopment of the 128-room, five-star Old Street (Courthouse) Hotel, London. The project involves the restoration of the former magistrates’ court and police station, together with a newly built bedroom block and basement function area.
Work began on the project in March 2013, while specification was handled by Belfast-based Garuda Design, with installation undertaken by London-based mechanical services contractor Kane Heating.
Over 60 Kompakt Plan flat fronted panel radiators from MHS Radiators have been installed in The Atholl – one of Edinburgh’s most exclusive hotels.
The installation was part of the major refurbishment and conversion of a Georgian townhouse, from commercial offices back to four high-end luxury apartments. The Kompakt Plan radiators provide understated and effective space heating throughout the hotel’s four extensive guest suites.
Over 230 Ionic cast iron radiators from MHS Radiators have been installed at Wakefield Town Hall, West Yorkshire. The historic Victorian building, which is Grade I listed by English Heritage, has been undergoing refurbishment since December 2013.
Commenting on the renovation of the building, Chris Lund, Mechanical Engineer at the venue’s Building Services Department (Heating Division), said: “The installation of the new radiators is part of a refurbishment of the Town Hall. The project required the whole heating system to be replaced and upgraded, yet remain in the original style of the building, which dates back to Victorian times. The Ionic range from MHS Radiators was selected by NPS North East in line with all the requirements that apply to a listed building.”
19 cast iron Ionic radiators from MHS Radiators have been installed at Bentley Priory in Stanmore, Middlesex. The products were fitted as part of a conversion of the historic 18th century mansion house and its adjoining buildings, into a variety of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments, duplexes and villas.
The refurbishment was completed in January 2014, with South Eastern heritage developer City & Country responsible for managing the project, which also included reinstating and restoring the property’s Grade II Registered Italian Gardens and its 19th century parterre.
