1980
Modular Heating Sales (MHS) is founded by Michael Mainstone and John Bradley. Initially operating from a 2,000 sq ft premises in Basildon Essex, MHS quickly built a reputation acting as an agent for a commercial boiler brand. Alongside their commercial boiler sales, the company also begins manufacturing chimney systems and assembling cast iron radiators.  
1984

MHS introduces die cast aluminium radiators after recognising the growing need for low temperature, lightweight radiators for modern homes.

1989

MHS addresses the need for high specification heavy duty radiators by introducing the Monoplan. With a wide range of sizes available, the Monoplan is incredibly flexible for all projects and has proved popular with consumers and contractors alike – so much so it is still part of the MHS range today!

1990

Now operating from 14,000 sq ft of premises in Nobel Square, Essex, MHS Radiators and MHS Boilers are created as separate divisions in order to strengthen the brands independently. MHS radiators starts to manufacture Low Surface Temperature (LST) radiators to service the education and healthcare sector.

2000

Ian Bradley, son of MHS’ founder John Bradley, is appointed as Managing Director and Kevin, son of Mike Mainstone, is appointed Financial Director. Following the success of the previous decade, the company expands with an additional 28,000 sq ft of warehousing space in Schimiter Park, Essex.

MHS Radiators launches its retail division, supplying designer radiators and towel rails to Kitchen and Bathroom showrooms and radiator retailers across the UK.

2001
MHS is a finalist in Deloitte & Touche 100 Fastest Growing Businesses Award.

2006

MHS moves from Schimiter Park and Nobel Square to a new45,000 sq ft premises in Laindon, Essex.

MHS introduces a spectacular collection of models to the UK market, putting the company at the cutting-edge of radiator design

2010

Following decades of partnership, MHS Boilers is acquired by ELCO International (part of Ariston Thermo Group), with MHS Radiators continuing to be owned and operated by the Bradley and Mainstone families.

A market first sees MHS develop the Simplicity range; a unique collection of stainless steel radiators and towel rails, perfectly designed for modern homes and commercial environments.

2015

Alex Bradley, son of MHS Radiators’ Managing Director Ian Bradley, joins the company as the 3rd generation of the family business.

2017

Rads2Rails is created as a division of MHS Radiators, supplying the plumbers’ merchant market with cost effective designer radiators and towel rails.

2019

Due to the expansion of MHS Radiators the company relocates to a new 22,000 sq ft premises in Basildon, Essex.

2022
New exclusive finishes
New exclusive finishes

MHS becomes the first in the market to introduce Antique Brass and Antique Copper finishes on stainless steel towel rails, with the launch of the Lara, offering a competitive alternative to traditional brass models.

2023

MHS acquires a brand new 6,000 sq. ft. industrial unit in Rochford, Essex, which will house the company’s assembly and finishing plant for cast iron and aluminium radiators.

2024

MHS introduces an innovative line of fan-assisted radiators tailored for low-temperature systems. Engineered for optimal comfort and performance, our cutting-edge solutions offer precise temperature control and enhanced efficiency.
